Head Prefect’s Message-2022

Let me share with you about the recent situation that has become part of us and well known as the Corona virus or as others may put it “COVID-19”. What I can say is that it’s been a real tough two years. Nonetheless, we thank God for the fact that we are all still alive up to this moment. Before I go far, I believe the biggest advantage that this virus has brought is the ability of people to become more innovative.  Sure people have always been but these times have taught us how to not alone live but also how to survive even under the current circumstances. The job market has been very low to be honest but it hasn’t stopped people from making a small buck or two. Especially in the social media world it has helped young generation to develop some of their talents and use them not only to entertain others but some have actually earned a living from it.

In the education sector, it has enabled both students and teachers to adapt to new system rather than sitting idle and dormant till schools open. This has been possible through virtual learning and interactive lessons. Students have been able to sit at the comfort of their homes and still be able to acquire knowledge from schools. Busoga College Mwiri has been top school in Jinja for use of virtual learning due to facilities and capabilities of the teachers to teach the children.  I am proud to say that I have benefited a lot from this as it has enabled even students to make personal interests to move forward rather than waiting on the teacher.

It has allowed students to also interact with each other not only from their school but also other schools so as to gage on their coverage and also widen their friendship basis which is very important.

I could go on and on about how much we have learnt from this period but for every advantage there is always a disadvantage but the question I leave for us is that Will you let what is happening in these times stop you from becoming successful and if Yes/No why?”

I leave you with Jeremiah 29:11. “Kulwa Katonda n’Eggwanga Lyaffe.”
