Friends of Mwiri in the UK
Who are Friends of Mwiri UK
Since the late 1960s former teachers at the Busoga College Mwiri and UK-based former students have held Reunions every one or two years in the United Kingdom. On a number of occasions these have resulted in projects to help the school recover from the damage it suffered in the Idi Amin years and more recently to assist it in facing current challenges. These projects have been identified in consultation with the Mwiri Old Boys Association (MOBA) and the Headmasters and have been carried out by interested individuals on an ad hoc basis. The name ‘Friends of Mwiri UK’ emerged over time.
In September 2011 the school celebrated its Centennial. This was attended by eight members of FoM UK (at their own expense). At the Centennial event FoM UK received an award from the School and the Old Boys Association in recognition of the support given over the years. Learn more…
