Academics Overview
Mwiri is fully equipped with the essential resources and facilities needed for a successful academic journey in a Ugandan secondary school. Academic excellence is at the forefront of our mission, with dedicated committees and boards working diligently to ensure the implementation of effective academic policies. The Academic Board, in collaboration with the School Academic Committee, comprising key academic leaders, carefully crafts academic strategies and guidelines. With a strong focus on academics, Mwiri College is committed to providing students with a supportive and enriching learning environment.
The Upper School
When at Busoga College Mwiri, there are two locations in which a student is meant to be, either at house or the Upper School.
The Upper School is where the core business of teaching and learning occurs in the school. It is a historical place whose landmark is the Quadrangle. It is sort of an enclosure surrounded by the Main Hall which was opened in 1940, The Prefects Common Room commonly known as the PCR, Senior Two Block and the Technical Drawing Department.
However, there are other places around the Quadrangle that make the Upper School complete. On arrival at the Upper School, you face two blocks; the Administration Block and the Staffroom.
Behind the Administration Block is Kayondo Memorial Computer Centre, a department which empowers Mwiri students and the staff with digital literacy.
At the rear of the Computer Centre, there is a Chapel and an incomplete classroom block just near the terrace over which one can enjoy a magnificent scenery of the surroundings downhill including Lake Victoria.

Generally, the isolation of a spacious hill of 300 acres on which the school is located, creates a tranquil environment, very conducive for learning.
The institution is richly equipped with all that is necessary for studies in a Ugandan secondary school.
