Mwiri Rugby Fraternity

The rugby spirit is one that has failed to die in Mwiri. After the unfortunate death of one of our own, Macho (RIP) who put his body on the line and succumbed to a brain concussion. This left the rugby spirit torn in tatters and the miasma of fear for the sport filled the air. This was until an ambitious group of students decided to take the bull by the horns and breathe life back into the sport. Akol Marvin, Buyu Ivan, Makwasi Marvin Peter, Muwanguzi John, Okhwayo Jonah, Feni Fred, and many others sparked off a little fire that has grown into a wildfire that destroys all teams in its path. Through training, strength, and conditioning this is a team with a very fiery bright future ahead of it. Even without a coach, the team managed to the playoff in a friendly against Jinja Secondary School and it was near fall (14-07) by f.2z against the intermediate team of Jinja Secondary School. We seek more support from the entire Mwirian Rugby Fraternity so as to equip the team with a rugby kit, jersey, and a coach to grow this sport on the hill. The rugby spirit lives on.
